Sermon Transcription:
Church, I'm so looking forward to going into the Word of God with you. It's going to be part four of us exploring the book of Daniel and seeing what the Lord explains to us for our lives today through this man Daniel—through his book, through all of these incredible stories—and what they really mean for our lives today. What we can learn from it, but also what it calls us to. It calls us to believe for something God is willing to do in our day, not just Daniel's day. And in many of our cases, it's calling us to believe that God is going to, and intends to, do that through you and me. And in this part four, this is the title I have for you: God Is Ready to Speak to You. God is ready to speak to you. And I'll read to you Amos 3, verses 7 and 8, before we pray: “Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants, the prophets. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?”
Lord, we come before You this morning, Lord God. And I pray, Lord Jesus, that this service may be a service of healing, Lord God, for people that have been hurt and wounded by unbiblical prophecy, that have been confused by the way that Your Word has been used lightly or for personal gain. Lord God, I pray that You cause faith to arise in every heart. Lord God, that because of the cross, You are calling us to a life that has an eternal impact, Lord God, on the lives of those around us—through Your Holy Spirit, through Your presence, Lord, through Your Word. I pray, Lord God, that the eyes of our hearts can see and that our ears may be able to hear, Lord, what You are speaking to us individually—that we may respond to You with childlike faith, saying, Father, I trust You. Have Your way. Father, let Your will be done. Lord God, I pray that You cause us to see it and to hear it with our hearts this morning. Lord, we pray that all of this service may be a joy unto Your heart, a blessing unto You, through the dwelling of the Spirit who is with us—who causes people like us, sinners saved by grace, Lord God, to begin to bring glory and honor to Christ Jesus. Lord, only Your sacrifice, only Your Spirit, can bring these things to pass. I pray, Lord God, that Your will be done. In Jesus’ name. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Amen.
We're looking today mainly at Daniel chapter 4. And as we go from chapter to chapter in the book of Daniel, when we get to chapter 4, we again hear of a vision and a dream. Not the first time we hear about that in this book. This time, it’s a little bit different. The first time that Nebuchadnezzar had a vision and a dream, he demanded that his wise men tell him what he had dreamed—without him sharing it himself—and that, on top of that, they would then explain what this vision meant. Nobody could do it—until Daniel, in the gifting of the Lord, stepped forward. The giftings of the Spirit. And we learned that there are situations—death situations, threatening situations, difficult situations—that the Lord will allow in your and my life. They are not designed to be overcome in the natural. They are not designed to be overcome by your financial resources or your network—the people that you know and the strings you can pull. There are many situations that the Lord allows in your life where there’s some pressure, and it may be uncomfortable, but the Lord is doing it so that you may begin to walk in the giftings of heaven that are in your life—and that, in doing so, people’s attention is turned to Christ Jesus the Lord, through whom they can be forgiven and saved.
These miraculous moments in our life, even though they may be few at times, are not necessarily for us as much as they are for those who watch our lives—that they may become convinced that Jesus can do the greatest miracle of all: to wash away their sins. And here in chapter 4, we again begin to read about a vision and a dream. This time, King Nebuchadnezzar shares the dream. But again, none of his wise men can explain it. And that’s why we jump into the story in verse 10. We’ll start there in chapter 4, verse 10. The king speaking: “These were the visions of my head while on my bed. I was looking, and behold, a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great. The tree grew and became strong; its height reached to the heavens, and it could be seen to the ends of the earth. Its leaves were lovely, its fruit abundant, and in it was food for all.The beasts of the field found shade under it,the birds of the heavens dwelt in its branches, and all flesh was fed from it. I saw in the visions of my head while on my bed, and there was a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven. He cried aloud and said thus: ‘Chop down the tree and cut off its branches, strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit. Let the beasts get out from under it and the birds from its branches. Nevertheless, leave the stump and roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field. Let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let him graze with the beasts on the grass of the earth. Let his heart be changed from that of a man; let him be given the heart of a beast, and let seven times pass over him. This decision is by the decree of the watchers, and the sentence by the word of the holy ones, in order that the living may knowthat the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest of men.’”
Here the king very carefully explains his dream. And he continued, in verse 18: “This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. Now you, Belteshazzar (that’s Daniel), declare its interpretation, since all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation; but you are able, for the Spirit of the Holy God is in you.” Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonished for a time, and his thoughts troubled him. So the king spoke and said, “Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation trouble you.” Belteshazzar answered and said, “My lord, may the dream concern those who hate you, and its interpretation concern your enemies. The tree that you saw, which grew and became strong, whose height reached to the heavens and which could be seen by all the earth—whose leaves were lovely and its fruit abundant, in which was food for all, under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and in whose branches the birds of heaven had their home—it is you, O king, who have grown and become strong. For your greatness has grown and reaches to the heavens, and your dominion to the end of the earth. And inasmuch as the king saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying, ‘Chop down the tree and destroy it, but leave its stump and roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and bronze, in the tender grass of the field. Let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let him graze with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him’—this is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king: They shall drive you from men. Your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make you eat grass like oxen. They shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it to whomever He chooses.”
Here Daniel responds before the king. He is astonished at the assignment placed before him. He’s astonished at the understanding that he’s been given from heaven—to bring forth this word in clarity to the heart and understanding of the king. But he shares it. He delivers that message. And when we look at an incredible story like this—we read that, in the twelfth month, this all came to pass. The king was standing on his balcony overlooking the city, saying, “I’ve done a pretty good job. Is this not what I have built?” And at that time, his heart and his mind were changed, and he was driven out of the palace. The Word tells us that as he was with the beasts of the field and ate the grass, his nails became like the claws of a bird. Completely—all of his grace, all of his magnitude, all of his honor, all of his dignity—was gone. And then, in the end, the Lord gives him back his mind. The Lord gives him back everything. He is restored to his palace, restored to the kingdom, restored to his position—and then declares the greatness of the Lord. Now his understanding, the deepest part of his soul, has learned that everything is given to him to rule and reign over—and nothing he built, nothing he took for himself, was truly his. This was the purpose of the journey that started with a vision he could not understand.
What is God seeking to have you and I understand through this story—this story of Daniel?
Because it’s a very particular story, one that was really for that king and what the Lord was doing in his heart—the way God was seeking to use that king in his generation for the benefit of other people. That king just thought he was doing it all by himself. But when we look at Daniel in this story—especially since this seems like a repeat story—what do we learn of Daniel, and what do we learn about our own lives? This Daniel, very particularly, time and time again in the Scriptures, is referred to—even by King Nebuchadnezzar himself—as one in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. That’s how Daniel is set apart. Every time the king says, “Well, if nobody can tell me, somebody find Daniel—because he can. Because the Spirit of the Holy God is in him.” The king had learned that earlier on in a story we looked at, and now Daniel is set apart in people’s hearts and in people’s minds. But he’s set apart by this: he is that man in whom the Spirit of the Holy God dwells. And we see Daniel pointed out like that in story after story, time and again—that’s the man in whom the Spirit of God dwells.
Just like in you, church. Just like every single one of you, church of the Living God. That’s why the story of Daniel is so relevant to you and to your life. The Word declares that God’s Spirit has come to live in you because of the cross of Jesus Christ. And therefore, these stories are so important for us to look at diligently, because there was something different about Daniel—and the only real difference was that the Spirit of God dwelt in him, and not in the other wise men of the kingdom. And here, the Lord has spoken over your life, and through His Word when you read it at home—and maybe you’ve heard sermons before in church—where it’s been brought to your attention that God sends His Spirit to come and live inside of you when you repent and believe on Jesus Christ, the Savior of all mankind. The Spirit of God comes to live inside of you, just like that Spirit lived inside of Daniel. Again, in this story, we see a vision and a dream. And as we go from story to story about the life of Daniel, a pattern begins to emerge in this book so clearly about a man in whom the Spirit of God dwells.
Daniel has an answer when nobody else does. He understands what God is speaking when nobody else understands it. He understands what is in God’s heart for a generation, or for a person, when no one else understands it. And Daniel is a picture of you—a picture of the church of the Living God—a man or a woman in whom the Spirit of God has come to dwell. Church, God is ready to speak to you. Jesus died for your sins. He died in your place. He laid down His life. He took your sin and death upon Himself, and He gave His life away to you. He even gave His own Spirit to you, and made you a man or a woman in whom the Spirit of the Holy God now dwells. He will speak to you for this generation—in this generation that we live in. He’s going to speak to you. He’s going to make things known to you. He’s going to give you understanding when no one around you understands. He will give you answers when no one has the answers. You will understand what God is speaking to your generation. You will understand what is on God’s mind toward your generation.
God is ready to speak to you—a man or a woman in whom the Spirit of the Living God dwells.
Let me read to you Acts 2:17–18: “And it will come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days, and they shall prophesy.” His Spirit will be upon you. And it doesn’t matter who you are today—whether you’re with us online or here in the house—you who identify as a sinner, who say, “All I have when I come into the presence of God is my sin. My sin—it’s ever before my mind. I cannot do anything but fail. I’m uncommitted to Christ.”
I don’t have a good prayer life. I don’t understand the Bible when I open it. You sinner—you who feel like a failure, you who are afraid that you are not dedicated enough to Christ Jesus—this is what the Word says: the Spirit of God will come upon you, and you will prophesy. What does that mean? It means you will know what is on God’s mind for this generation. It means you will understand what God would say to a person who feels broken in their sin—discouraged, overwhelmed by the thoughts of their own mind, and the abuse of the enemy in their life.
God is going to cause you to see something over their life—something that God would do, that God is willing to bring about in their life. It’s not something flaky or strange when we talk about “prophesy.” It means that when the Spirit of God comes to dwell in men and in women—when no one knows what God is doing, when no one knows how God thinks about a situation, when no one knows the way out—you are going to know what God thinks about the situation.
You’re going to know what God would speak to that person. And you’re going to be stirred up by the Spirit of God to speak—to speak to their situation, to speak to their unbelief, to speak to their fear, to speak to their doubt, and to begin to speak life into areas where people have death clouding their minds. God will send you—because Christ paid to have His Spirit freely given to a man or woman like you. You didn’t do anything right. Your repentance has not impressed God. Your failures have not changed His mind about how He’s going to reach this generation. He says, “I’m going to pour out My Spirit on every person who can believe that Jesus Christ is My only begotten Son.” They may have nothing more than that—but watch what happens when I pour My Spirit on their life. Then they will be changed. Then their heart will be on fire. Then they will know My mind. Then I will do something through them that will cause people to begin to pay attention. Church, you can have a heart of zeal for the things of God. You can pour in so much effort. You can go evangelize on the streets. You can serve in the church. You can tell everyone you can find about Jesus Christ—and yet nothing ever works. It feels like you pour out all of your life and see so little fruit.
But when the Spirit of God is given to you—because you’ve given up everything else and said, “Jesus, if I can have nothing in this world but You, that’s enough for me”—when your heart is wholly surrendered to Jesus, and He pours His Spirit on a man like that, or on a woman like that, then everything changes. All of a sudden, when nobody else knows what to say, there will be one sentence that comes from your mouth—but it reaches into the heart. There will be one thing that comes out of you, one word that you speak, one action you do—but the anointing of God dwells upon it. The purposes of God are brought about not by your strength, not by your eloquence, not by your know-how or your studying or your intellect. None of that is able to do it. But when the Spirit of God is in a man or a woman, everybody begins to realize—no one else knows, but you must know, because the Spirit of the Holy God dwells in your heart.
Church, God is going to move your heart to tell people what He is going to do. People’s hearts—especially when they can see their sins—become obsessed with everything I have done, what I’m able to change, what I’m able to do, what I’m able to read, what I’m able to pray. People become so limited in their understanding of what is actually possible. And God will begin to stir your heart to speak to people about what He is going to do—what He can do in their situations. You’re going to tell them what His intentions are. You’re going to tell and declare to them what He will do because of Christ—not because your repentance is hard enough or deep enough.
Because of Christ. Because of the cross. You will declare to them what God is doing in a generation that can’t really see Him, that can’t really hear Him. He’s going to send you to help people see. He’s going to send you to open eyes. Those that believe the smallest truth about the cross—even if they’re still wrong about 90%—when you begin to speak what God is doing, when you begin to tell people what God is willing to do because of the cross, and people begin to believe His Word just the smallest bit, He begins to open their eyes. He begins to break their bonds. He begins to guide them into freedom. And you will declare to them that He’s not doing it because we persuaded Him with our good works or prayers or even our repentance. No—He’s doing it in this generation for the greatness of His own name.
Because all has been paid for. Every single reason that God is doing this work in you, and in this generation, is because the cross paid and gave God the right to do what He needed to do—to glorify His name. To glorify His name inside of you. Let me read to you Ezekiel 36:22–23:
“Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God:I do not do this for your sake, O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went.” In other words, you’ve been calling yourself part of the people of God, but you haven’t been behaving like it. And because of that, people have accusations in their hearts against God—against His church. They believe that it’s all hypocritical, that it’s without power, that it’s without dignity, that it’s just fake—just like any other religion. He says, “You’ve done that because you said you were a Christian, or you said you were part of the people of God—and you weren’t living like it.” Verse 23: “And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord,”says the Lord God,“when I am hallowed in you before their eyes.”
In other words, when people begin to see that the Spirit of the Holy God comes to live inside a man or a woman like you—without you being that great, without you having done anything impressive—something powerful happens. You’ve already called yourself a Christian, and you’ve made mistakes that made it hard for people to believe in God, that made it hard for people to trust the church of the Living God, that made it hard for people to forgive—because you, a Christian, did it. But He says, “When people see what I am going to do—when they see what I will put inside of you when My Spirit fills you; when they see how I will set you apart and break you free from sin; when they see how I will free you from misunderstanding; when they see how I will cause you to know My mind, to know My heart, to know My words—then something is going to happen in their hearts.” They’re going to know that there is one Lord. They’re going to know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes.” And you, church—men and women in whom the Spirit of the Holy God dwells—you will declare what God is doing in this generation.
Let’s continue reading verse 24. God’s speaking—and He’s going to deliver this message through you. He’s going to bring it into this generation. “For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all your countries, and bring you into your own land.” In other words—it doesn’t matter where you’ve been. It doesn’t matter where sin has taken you. It doesn’t matter how far you’ve run from Me. God is doing something in this generation right now. Jesus paid for it, and that payment has given God the right to pursue you into the depths of darkness—toward the very gates of hell. It doesn’t matter where you hide yourself. God is coming after you. He’s going to draw you to Himself. He loves you. He’s not given up on you. And He seeks to bring you into something that He has prepared for you. Verse 25: “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean. I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.” Go tell the world—you cannot get rid of sin. You cannot change your heart. You cannot work sin out of your life. But there is a God named Jesus Christ who paid the price and purchased the right to do something so miraculous in you. He will baptize you with the baptism of heaven. He will cause every single sin to begin to fall off of you. He will cleanse you. He will cause you to no longer have idolatry in your heart. He’s going to cleanse you. He’s going to make you new.
There’s not a thing you have to do. All you get to do is hear the good news—and decide: Do I believe that this God speaks the truth in His Word? Or do I become skeptical of who He really is, and what He’s willing to do? Do I doubt whether the cross actually purchased the right to do all of this in my life? Verse 26: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” So many Christians I meet—they don’t like themselves. They don’t like how they feel about other people. They don’t like how they think about others. They don’t like that their heart has such a difficult time believing God at His Word. Here’s what the Word says: I’ll give you a new heart. I’ll remove it out of you. I’ll give you a new spirit. Your spirit is broken—by hurt, by confusion, by sin. God says, “I’ll give you a new spirit.” That’s not speaking of His Holy Spirit—He says that later. He will give a man or a woman a new spirit. That’s why you can have a person with such a broken past, wounded in every single way possible—a broken spirit—and they come to Christ and they bloom up again.
Jesus gives them a whole new spirit. The brokenness is gone. The hurt, the pain—it flows away into the wounds of Christ. And we receive a whole new heart. He says, “I’ll take your heart of stone.” If you say, “I have a hard time believing God,” this is what God says He will do: It may be true that it’s hard for you to believe—but here’s what God will do. He’ll give you a new heart. He’ll remove the heart of stone. He’ll give you a heart of flesh—a soft heart, a heart that is able to receive. Verse 27: “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” In other words, you’re going to understand how I think about things—and you’re going to have the power to walk it out the way I would have walked it out. My Spirit is going to be with you. My Spirit is going to be speaking to your new spirit—your spirit that has come alive—and you’re going to know exactly what is on My mind. You’re going to have the power to walk it out. Verse 28: “Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God.” It’s the Lord saying over a generation: There are people who have come before you, and you feel like they were nearer to Me, like they could hear My voice more clearly. They walked in my promises more surrendered. Your Christianity feels like a small thing compared to what they had.
He says, "I'm going to bring you to the place I brought your fathers to. I'm going to bring you to the very place where I was so near to them. I'm going to be just as near to you. You're going to be my people. I will be your God." Church, you are sent into this world to declare what God is doing over this generation. You're not sent into this world to judge whether or not people believe you when you say it. The Lord will test the hearts, and the hearts of those that believe the good news, He'll open the eyes. He'll pour His Spirit in their life, and He'll take them on a marvelous journey. And those that do not believe—what does Jesus say?—"I didn't come to judge, but the word judges them." You are simply called to declare the word. You are simply called to never grow tired of declaring the truth of what God is doing over this generation, 'cause somebody paid and gave Him the right to do it for people that do not deserve it. You are sent into this world, a man or woman filled with the Spirit of God, to declare what God is doing—to declare what did you understand, what His mind is towards people.
Verse 7 and 8 of Amos 3: "Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants, the prophets. A lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who can but prophesy?" Church, He's going to put you in front of people. And when you stand in front of them, or you hear how they speak, you hear how they're doing, He will begin to stir your heart. And He's going to cause your eyes—your spiritual eyes—to see beyond. And He will make you speak in faith to the beyond. He will make you see beyond the sins of a person, and He will cause you to see beyond it. And He will cause you to see what God would do in their life if all they would ever do is believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. God will cause you to see beyond where people are stuck. He will make you see beyond people's mountains of impossibility. They can't see past it. In the natural, it could never come to pass. And you'll stand in front of them, and instantly the eyes of your heart begin to see beyond all of these impossibilities. And now you're invited by the Lord to begin to speak what God would do about the situation—what God would do because of the cross of Jesus Christ. He will make you see beyond the hurt and the pain and the limitations that people carry in their life.
It is simple—sinners redeemed by the sacrifice of Jesus. Those will be the sons and the daughters of the living God. And the Spirit of God will be upon them, and they will declare the wonder and the might of God upon this generation. And those who believe the good news will be saved and set free in the presence of the Spirit of God—the very presence of the Spirit that dwells inside of those men and those women. Church, every single person, saint and sinner alike, hear me on this: it doesn't matter how much sin you carry with you today. It doesn't matter how long you've been failing. It doesn't matter how much you look down upon yourself—saint and sinner alike. None of us are far from the kingdom. Jesus Christ brought it near. That's what God did. You may be stuck on what you have done or what you failed to do. Jesus brought the kingdom near to you. None of us are far from the presence of God. Oh, how many times I hear people in the church say, "I just got to get closer to God. I just—I just got to seek Him. I just got to get closer to Him." The devil couldn't convince you more of his gospel than to get you to believe that you have to get closer to God.
Jesus has drawn near to you. Jesus is ready to speak to you. He's willing to come and live in your heart for no other reason than that. He has loved you, and He has purchased the right to do so on the cross. The question is: do you believe that the cross is enough for you to receive everything you've never deserved? Or do you still doubt and question? I'm telling you, none of us are far off from the presence of God. And none of us are far from receiving the Spirit of the living God. What does the Bible say, church? Surely whoever asks My Father for the Spirit, He would not give them a stone if they ask for an egg. He would not give them a snake when they ask for a fish. Surely He will pour His Spirit when you ask. Church, God is ready to speak to you in this generation. Daniel was it in his generation. Can you imagine the amount of people we have today in whom the Spirit of God dwells—men and women? Do you see how much answers this generation can get? How much God is willing to speak into this generation by making the Spirit so available to anyone that is willing to come wholeheartedly to Jesus Christ and believe Him at His word? God is so ready to speak to you.
He's so ready to send you out and put you before people with impossible situations, impossible sin debts between them and God. God wants to send you to that place for you to see beyond it and begin to tell them the truth of what God has done and what God is doing. "Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants, the prophets. A lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who can but prophesy?" There's going to be a stirring in your heart. You won't be able to keep it in. He's going to do that in your life. Don't doubt it. Don't explain it away. Don't exclude yourself. Don't shove God aside. Don't put the cross down next to you saying, "No, this was not purchased for me. No, this won't come to pass in me." Don't walk in unbelief. Trust God with all of your heart. Believe Him at His word for your generation, that your generation may have a voice that is so powerful, so anointed, that they cannot forget—and that they begin to come to you, every single one of you, and say, "Well, you would know, because the Spirit of the Holy God dwells inside of you."
Hallelujah. If, throughout this service, the Word of God has been nudging at your heart, touching your heart this morning, what that means is that God is inviting you to respond to Him in faith. Now, you may be here, you may be online, you may have walked with Him for years, yet this morning, He's stirring something up in you, and He's calling you forward—and you can hear it in your spirit: God is willing to speak to me. Maybe you're here, and you say, "I'm—I'm drowning in sin, and all I got is guilt. I'm not full of faith." But God's Spirit is not passing you by. He's calling you forward. He's ready to speak to you, church, when the Word touches you in any way. And we can be touched in different ways. When the Word touches your heart in any way, God is inviting you to respond to His Word. What He's speaking to you, He's inviting you to respond in faith. And so, I want to ask you this morning—online, if you would respond wholeheartedly, and here in person—if the Word touched your heart, would you please respond to Him in faith and join me here at the altar for prayer? If you desire to come and pray, would you come to the front at this time? Would you come and pray together before the Lord?
If He stirred your heart at all, if He has spoken to your heart, opened your eyes to see maybe for the first time, maybe again, He's willing to speak to you. He's paid for your forgiveness. He's paid for you to receive the Spirit. He's paid for you to be changed. He's paid for you to receive a heart exchange. He's paid for you to receive a new mind. He's paid for you to be cleansed from your idols without any of your effort. He's paid for you to become more and more like Him. Some here at the altar have to say, "God, I repent for my sins." Some have to say, "God, I repent of my doubts." But in every single case, I believe the Holy Spirit is moving us to pray: "Lord God, let Your Word come to pass in me. Lord God, let Your Word come to pass in my heart. Lord God, let Your Word come to pass in my life. I can hear You. I believe that You are sending me into this generation because You filled me with Your Spirit. That's all the call I needed. That's all the reason I needed. And Lord, You will give me a Word at the right time. You will give me understanding at the right time. But Lord God, I believe that You are going to speak to me, that You are ready to speak to me."
