Becoming a Giver

2Cor 8:7 NIV

But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the

love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

Three areas of giving:

Eph 5:15-16 NIV

15) Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise,

16) making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

1Cor 12:7

But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

Rom 12:8

if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it

diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

The Church Of God regards tithing to be a ministry of the members, Tithing is defined as 10% of one’s pre tax income.

Pro 3:5,9

5)Trust in the LORD with all your heart,

And lean not on your own understanding;

9) Honor the LORD with your possessions,

And with the firstfruits of all your increase;

Pro 11:25 NIV

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
